You want to know how to grow your business with Pinterest, but you don’t know where to start or have the money to hire someone to do it for you. Sound familiar?? Creatives are using Pinterest more and more to get more sales and more clients than ever before. Today I’m going to show you step-by-step how you can start marketing your products & services on Pinterest.
The #1 thing to know about Pinterest is that it is a search engine. Many business owners believe Pinterest is just another social media platform. As a business owner, it can be hard to use it effectively to increase sales or your client base. Pinterest is one of the top search engines out there, right up there with Google & YouTube.
The #2 thing to know about Pinterest is that people go to Pinterest to make purchases! According to HootSuite, 90 percent of weekly users use Pinterest to make purchase decisions and 55 percent of Pinners are looking specifically for products.
How to Grow Your Business With Pinterest
Create Pinterest-friendly pins for your products or services!
Creating pins for your products is crucial to your success as a creative on Pinterest. Having a graphic designer design custom pins to match your branding or shop will increase traffic to your website. You can also create pins for your services. Check out an easy way to do this using some of my free Pinterest templates:
Create pins for blog posts for your business.
Having a blog for your business is a great way to increase potential clients’ or customers’ knowledge about what you do or what you sell. Writing blog posts (or having a VA write blog posts for you) can increase traffic to your website when you use Pinterest to promote the posts. Always remember to use a branded pin as your featured blog post photo too!!
Create pins for your lead magnets and freebies.
Giving something of value to your potential clients or customers is a great way to get visitors to your website AND on your email list. Creating pins for a coupon or freebie is another way you can increase visits to your website which can mean more sales.
Your potential client/customer comes to your website, signs up for a coupon/freebie, you deliver it, and then you are able to nurture that person through your email list. You may even be able to convert them on your website before that just by getting them to your website with Pinterest.
Create multiple pins for each blog post.
Creating at least 3 graphics for each blog post is a great way to grow your Pinterest presence also. Here is an example of how I have done this previously!
Pin your blog posts consistently using Tailwind Tribes!
Utilizing Tailwind Tribes are a great way to get your content out and on boards that you wouldn’t have reached otherwise. Adding your new content to tribes is the best way to get engaged pinners promoting your content to their audiences. Tailwind lets you belong to 5 tribes to start with, but if you get their premium package like I have you can get access to 10 tribes!
Use SmartLoop to keep your ‘evergreen’ pins circulating!
Using Tailwind to create a SmartLoop of your pins is the number one way I drive traffic to not only this website, but also to my travel & dog blog. Pinterest alone has gotten me the most views more than any other traffic source, but when you add SmartLoop in the mix? Magic!!
